Drum Club
Welcome to drum club February 2026!
This month we will be exploring the ins and outs of the rhythm called Donso - dedicated to the hunters of West Africa. If you are born into a Donso family, you are initiated and respected as is a healer, a Diviner, a ritual specialist, and an amulet maker. Donso are musicians and have their own instrument, Donso N’goni (a 6-stringed harp) and a metallic rattle called negeshien.
Whilst not a traditional djembe rhythm in any way, shape or form; there are some beautiful compositions for us to learn.
All recordings, notation, and notes will be available here after class each week.
