Simone will be presenting content designed to get you more deeply connected with your own sense of rhythm and to enhance your understanding of West African music and culture. Prepare to go on an immersive rhythmic journey!
In each 2hr session, Simone will teach you a different traditional or contemporary West African rhythm exploring djembe, dun & bell parts, breaks, solos, songs, and more. If you are new to drumming or haven’t drummed in a while, you will be taken care of! Simone specialises in helping all levels of ability learn together, ensuring that everyone gets what they need to feel equally supported in their learning and challenged with the material being studied.
Let Simone know on booking if you need us to provide you with a djembe to use. There will be a limited number of duns available to play.
Come for a workshop, a day, or stay for the weekend!
Simone will teach all classes on both days from 10-12pm & 1-3pm (BYO lunch).
